Step 1

Sale of Relinquished Property
Simply complete the 1031 Worksheet and fax a copy of your Contract for Sale to Liberty 1031 at 866.903.6632. A Liberty 1031 Exchange Coordinator will contact you to confirm the details, and then e-mail your 1031 documentation to the Settlement Agent.

This documentation must be signed at or before your closing. In addition, the Seller on your Settlement Statement must be changed to Liberty 1031 Exchange Services, LLC, as Qualified Intermediary.

Upon your approval, Liberty 1031 will sign the Settlement Statement, which is usually faxed to the Settlement Agent prior to or during closing. The closing proceeds are then wired directly to Liberty 1031.

Next Step

Identification of Replacement Property
Within 45 days of the closing of the Relinquished Property, identify new property (Replacement Property) for the 1031 Exchange.
